Dyyno Journey - Stanford Startup

Dyyno is a video platform. Its mission is to democratize video all over the web. It’s a 50 member Stanford startup backed by strong venture capitalists.

Joined in 2008 as a QA Automation lead in Product engineering organization (2008 - 2011) and went on to become a Agile Project Manager (2009 - 2011).

  1. Worked with Product Line Managers to establish and review Product milestones, dependencies and risks; proactively updated release forecasts and associated project risks for stakeholders.

  2. Used waterfall model to manage projects of diverse scope for first 6 months and then implemented AGILE/SCRUM methodology, to adapt to rapid software changes and high customer demands.

  3. Managed several product release cycles from start to finish.

  4. Worked with engineering teams, product teams, QA teams and offshore teams to develop manual and automated test-cases and execute them embracing the Agile/SCRUM methodology.

Learnings:

  1. Understanding agile is simple but difficult to master and implement.

  2. Start-up is fast paced and very volatile is an understatement.

  3. Be ever-ready with your elevator pitch and demo for all customer segments - businesses, venture capitalists and individual customers.
